Photometric Inspection System

Development of a modular camera and lighting system for capturing components under multiple controlled illumination directions. A web interface enables live viewing, light control, image acquisition, session management, and later surface reconstruction.

Overview

This project develops a modular photometric capture system: components are imaged under multiple controlled illumination directions and the acquisition is operated through a dedicated web interface.

Challenge

Surface defects and geometric detail are often only visible under specific lighting directions, and manually operating a multi-light rig for each capture is slow and error-prone.

Solution

A camera and multi-directional lighting rig is controlled through a FastAPI backend and a Next.js web interface, allowing live viewing, light sequencing, image acquisition, and session management from a browser.
